Short Story Publication in Anthology
My short story The Last Laugh is a funny tale about the practical jokes that unfold in a sweltering steel mill.
Long, grueling, grimy shifts in dangerous conditions will erode the most tolerant person's good nature, so fun pranks give employees a chance to let off a little steelworker steam. New hires become prime targets for every old and new joke under sizzling steel ladles. But one newbie finds a way to keep his cool and makes plans to turn the smoldering tables on his co-workers. The prank unfolds not quite as expected, and soon, a unique idea for getting even turns up the heat on a nasty-tempered old-timer, making a hot situation explosive.
This story is part of the FWA anthology, WHAT A CHARACTER.
